POP Signage
Make it POP
“POP” is a term used in marketing and retailing which stands for “Point of Purchase”.
The point of purchase is where customers interact with your business and make purchasing decisions. “POP signage” is signage used to communicate marketing and influence a customer’s purchasing decisions.
POP Signage is no one specific type of signage, rather it’s the location of the signage and the purpose it serves. By implementing in-store signage you can improve the customer’s shopping experience, direct customer attention, increase sales and add visual interest to your store environment.

Life Cycle of POP Signage
Temporary
Temporary displays are made out of more disposable materials such as cardboard or paper products to be more cost-effective so you can switch them out frequently. However, because of their more fragile materials, they aren’t intended to last as long. These displays can last for weeks due to the fragile nature of these materials, but their lower cost points can make them effective for flash sales, or temporary promotions.
Semi Permanent
Semi permanent displays are made of more durable options such as PVC, corrugated plastic, polystyrene, or vinyl. They’re still relatively low cost so they can be replaced as needed, and they can withstand high traffic environments and withstand damage better.
Permanent
Permanent displays are meant to last the test of time. They can be fashioned from solid plastic, metal, and wood and can serve for many years before sustaining enough wear and tear that replacement is necessary. They can pose more of an upfront cost, but save time and money in the long run because they don’t need to be replaced very often.

Some examples of POP signage include free-standing display units (FSDU), shelf edging, dummy packs, strut cards, standees, hanging signs, counter display units (CDU), display packs, end caps, display stands, mobiles, posters, and banners.
